successfully completed their Competitive Starts Awards along
with their Preliminary Starts Award - well done guys!! If
you would like to order your certificates and badges please
sign up on the club notice board and hand the money in a
named sealed envelope to Debbie.
JAMES PARTON - congratulations to James who
will be swimming in the National Schools swimming
competition at Sheffield this weekend - well done and good
luck James.
SWIMMER OF THE MONTH (May) - this goes to Katie Deakin for all her hard work and dedication at training and her excellent performance at the Crusader gala.

COMPETITIVE STARTS AWARDS -
congratulations to James Parton and Will Booth both of whom have
passed their preliminary starts award and their competitive
starts awards - well done to you both.
CONGRATULATIONS to Louise Scriven who had just gained her UKCC level 2 qualification in Coaching - well done. SECONDARY SCHOOLS GALA - well done to the following swimmers who took part in the secondary schools gala held at MD pool on Wednesday 12th May - Dan Scriven, Richard Grindrod, Jack Healy, Harry Riley, Ed Saxon and Emma Scriven. Dan got bronze in 100m back in the senior boys and gold in the senior boys 100m breast. Richard got gold in the intermediate boys 100m back and silver in the intermediate boys 100m freestyle. Emma gained bronze in the junior girls 100m breaststroke.

board. Well done everybody.GOOD LUCK to the swimmers taking part in the Haden Hill Open meet on Sunday 9th May. Swimming Session Cancelled on 12th May due to Secondary Schools Gala. Land training is not affected and will be at usual time. MIDLAND YOUTHS - well done to Dan Scriven who took part in the Midland Youths championships at Coventry over the weekend coming in second place in his 50m breast, fourth in his 100m breast and in 6th place in 200m breast despite a warm pool which led to poor swimming conditions! SWIMMER OF THE MONTH - APRIL - the swimmer of the month for April goes to Ffion Brannan for her continued hard work and dedication during training. Well done Ffion! SHREWSBURY ASC OPEN MEET - Just four swimmers attended this open meet held on Saturday 3rd April at the Quarry pool in Shrewsbury, Rob Wenlock, Richard Grindrod, Jack Booth and Ed Saxon. Between them they entered 10 events and came away with 1 gold medal (Richard Grindrod 200 back), 2 silvers (Richard Grindrod 50 freestyle and Jack Booth 50 fly) and 1 bronze (Ed Saxon 100 fly). Ed and Richard both attaining two new PBs each. Many thanks to Anne Saxon who kindly went on poolside as Team Manager for the day. Well done to you all. CONGRATULATIONS to Dan Scriven who has achieved his 100m breast National Time this morning at the Welsh Nationals in Swansea with a time of 1:11.00 - well done Dan! Dan went into the final in 5th place but won Gold with an improved time of 1:10.34 with an impressive 31.6 for his first 50m. SPORT RELIEF -
well done to Jo Coombes, Benita Guy, Holly Guy, Abby Guy, Frances Derricutt,
Katie Slawson
and Ffion Brannan who all ran 3 miles today for Sport Relief and Emily
Swinnerton who ran a mile. Well done all of you.
