Market Drayton Newsletter

Well it must be time for another round of the “regular" newsletter, so what’s new?

September 17 we went along to our first gala of the season at Chase, finished fourth, gained 15 pb’s and by all accounts everyone swam really well. I am sorry that I was unable to be there, first gala I have missed since becoming “Coach” – very strange, have to say the text messages were few and far between but thank you to all those who did keep me posted, how sad is that! But well done to everyone and thank you for coming together so quickly and driving over there, it was appreciated.

Club Championships are fast approaching and all forms should have been handed in by now, the running order is sorted, I just have not got round to typing it yet, so come and ask, promise to get it sorted as soon as possible. Talking of Club champs, can anyone offer any help? Dates 30 Oct, 3 Nov, 5 & 6 Nov please fill in your name on the list on the club notice board.

This leads me nicely into offers of help in general, any help is greatly appreciated, if you have any talents you are prepared to share that would be brilliant, and I mean any help we need YOUR support, the club cannot grow and develop with out help.

Support at all of the training sessions is vital we are offering 8½ hours a week now. We need support at Cosford and Wrekin too, I am aware of the travelling, I am aware of the time on Sunday, but you can do 1 or 2 hours, get together and share lifts so you can rotate the travelling, or ask if you can bunk in with someone, there are lifts available, we need your support we are hanging in there, just, but the club can’t carry the cost alone. This is there for you to utilise PLEASE DO.

Stafford Apex Open gala at Wolverhampton all those that have had forms please dig them out I would like them back by October 12, they have to be returned to Stafford by November 1, and I would like them sent before my next course instalment.  Please fill in everything you can, pb’s name address etc, saves me hours of work!

Christmas is fast approaching, we are going to make a couple of Christmas hampers to win so is it possible for you all to bring 1 item suitable for a hamper, anything from a multi-bag of crisps to the posh choc, a bottle of wine to fizzy coke. We need to raise funds and this is the start.  If anyone has got any new ideas please let us know, the more the merrier.

Presentation night is being aimed at the whole family on Saturday January 7, snail racing, disco, buffet and medals - we want everyone to come and have a great night - book it on your calendar - one not to miss, keep checking for more details

Anyone prepared to go and do the officials course? We need another Judge desperately, currently we have two, one of whom is the coach and the other works shifts and although helps as much as possible can’t be expected to do it all, go on give it a go you never know you may actually enjoy it – details on the notice board.

The Club is looking at ways to make the cost of training cheaper any ideas pleas come forward.  Don’t forget to visit our website: all details are available online too.
